Joyce Lofton is fast becoming an overnight sensation after years of honing her vocal skills in almost every conceivable place including church, school, work, nightclubs, at weddings, in the car, and even in the shower. She is finally pursuing her singing in the way that she has wanted to do almost from the very beginning when she started singing in her father's church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joyce is at last being heard in some of the leading places where jazz is regularly played in Dallas. You might catch her at the South Dallas Cultural Center's monthly midnight jam session, at the Dallas Museum of Art's Thursday evening jazz concerts, or at the Second Tuesday jazz concerts at Saint Paul United Methodist Church. You may have heard her at any one of numerous private events held in the Dallas Metroplex over the past few years since she got "serious" about her vocal career.
